Financial Aid & Scholarships
FHSU’s Financial Assistance Office is here to help you find the federal, state and local financial assistance and scholarship programs that are best for you.

What do graduate students need to know about federal financial assistance?

  • You need to be seeking a degree to qualify
  • You need to be enrolled full time (9 credit hours per semester) to qualify
  • You can be enrolled in on-campus or on-line courses, or both
  • Need-based and non-need based federal assistance is available

How do I apply for financial assistance?

  1. All new students must request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the US Department of Education at www.pin.ed.gov
  2. Once you have a PIN, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov
    1. The best and most expedient way to complete FAFSA is on-line. The paper version (available from the FHSU Financial Assistance Office), is slower, more prone to mistakes and may very well be eliminated as an option in the future.
  3. Check out FHSU Financial Aid Information
    1. Go to www.fhsu.edu
    2. Click on Admission (left side)
    3. Click on Financial Aid/Scholarships (left side)
