We had another successful golf tournament, honoring Dr. Norvan '42 and Mrs. Dorothy Harris. Golfers from far and wide enjoyed a 4-person scramble on the greens of the beautiful Liberal Country Club. Following the tournament, prizes were awarded to the winning teams who donated to the Harris Scholarship Fund. In its 7th year, this important tournament has generated in excess of $13,500 for students to further their educational dreams at FHSU. View the slideshow.

This four person scramble began at 10 a.m. (MST) on the lush greens of Sugar Hills Country Club in Goodland, Kansas. The registration fee included green fees, driving range, cart and meal. This brand new facility was the perfect venue to join your Tiger friends for a social and dinner to renew old acquaintances and meet new friends. A program followed at 7:15 p.m. featuring a campus update by President Hammond.

Wearing Tiger gear, FHSU alumni and friends enjoyed an update by Dr. Jerry Choate, director FHSU Sternberg Museum of Natural History, on the recent developments of the Cheyenne Bottoms Kansas Wetlands Educational Center project. Front Range Fort Hays State University alumni and friends -met for a Tiger Alumni and Friends party prior to the FHSU vs. Colorado School of Mines football game! Showing Tiger pride they reunited with fellow Tigers at The Golden Hotel, an exquisite facility nestled in the heart of Golden offering a grand view of the mountains and Clear Creek.
They enjoyed a delicious Rocky Mountain Brunch including burgers, brats, potato salad, breakfast burritos, mixed green salad, assorted fruits, pastries and all the trimmings. Many rekindled ties with friends and FHSU special guests, including President Edward Hammond and heard the latest and greatest in Tiger news.
