• Canorus
  • Free music score editor. It supports note writing, scripting support, import/export of various file formats, MIDI input and output and more! Note that Canorus is still in early stage of development and not nearly all the features are implemented yet.
• Celestia
• The free space simulation that lets you explore our universe in three dimensions. Celestia runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
• ChildsPlay
• Childsplay is a suite of educational games for young children, like gcompris. Childsplay uses a plugin system for the games, so you might want to check the Childsplay plugins page. There are two built-in games: memory and a typing game.
• GCompris
• GCompris is an educational software suite comprising of numerous activities for children aged 2 to 10. Some of the activities are game orientated, but nonetheless still educational. Below you can find a list of categories with some of the activities available in that category.
• Stellarium
• Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go.
• TuxMath
• "Tux, of Math Command" ("TuxMath," for short) is an educational arcade game starring Tux, the Linux mascot!
• Based on the classic arcade game "Missile Command," Tux must defend his cities. In this case, though, he must do it by solving math problems.
• TuxPaint
• Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6 in the US, key stages 1 & 2 in the UK). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.
• TuxTyping
• "Tux Typing" is an educational typing tutor for children. It features several different types of gameplay, at a variety of difficulty levels.
• Crossword Builder. Multiplication Statio, Scabble, Wordsmith
• Asymptopia Crossword Builder is a JavaScript education application that runs in any modern browser.

Multimedia

• ArtOfIllusion
• Art of Illusion is a free, open source 3D modelling and rendering studio. It is written entirely in Java, and should be usable on any Java Virtual Machine which is compatible with J2SE 1.4 or later.
• Blender
• Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.
• Gimp
• GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.
• Audacity

• Gungirl Sequencer
• Gungirl Sequencer is an easy to use Audiosequencer. It includes a simple Filemanager and uses Drag & Drop to arrange Audiosamples.
• Hydrogen-music
• Hydrogen is an advanced drum machine for GNU/Linux. It's main goal is to bring professional yet simple and intuitive pattern-based drum programming.
• Inkscape
• An Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.

  • VLC - the cross-platform media player and streaming server. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
