The goal of the Department of Special
Education is to prepare exceptional Professional Educators for
today’s schools. The Department of Special Education offers
courses at the undergraduate and the graduate level that lead to
degrees and/or licensure. The special education teaching programs
are fully accredited by the National Council on Accreditation of
Teacher Education and the Kansas State Department of Education.
Course work is offered on campus as well as various sites in western
Kansas. Coursework/programs are also offered through the Virtual
College (ITV, On-Line).
Teachers licensed in Special Education and/or English for Speakers
of Other Languages are in high demand in Kansas and across the
country. If you are interested in making a difference in children’s
lives, you should consider special education.
