Mission
The Mobile Computing Task Force will provide oversight over the FHSU
Mobile Computing project, establish best practices for teaching, support,
and service that involves mobile computing and promote mobile computing
on the FHSU campus.
Goals
- Review mobile computing programs implemented at other institutions
- Define best practices for the implementation of Mobile Computing
at FHSU
- Offer recommendations to the FHSU administration regarding policies,
practices, and procedures
- Provide recommendation about approaches to student laptop ownership.
- FHSU leasing program
- Purchase of an FHSU-recommended system
- Adherence to a set of minimum standards for a system
- Combination of approaches
- Provide recommendations regarding vendors and vendor programs
- Define specific hardware recommendations for students and faculty.
- Define specific operating system recommendations for students
and faculty.
- Define specific application software recommendations.
- Define operating system and application software configuration
