Judy K. Montgomery, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Dr. Montgomery is a Professor, Special Education and Literacy, School of Education, Chapman University. She has over two decades of experience as a speech language pathologist, school principal, and director of special education in public schools in California. She was the president of ASHA in 1995, and the president of the CEC Division of Communication Disorders and Deafness in 2004- 2005. Her current work and publications focus on assessment and practical intervention in reading and language. Dr. Montgomery will be discussing two programs she has developed to meet the needs and requirements of Response to Intervention (RtI). Jennifer Taps, MA, CCC-SLP

Ms. Taps is a speech-language pathologist in San Diego City Schools. Three days per week, she carries a full caseload and provides classroom intervention for students with IEPs and at-risk students. Two days per week, she is the program coordinator for the Articulation Resource Center, a program through which she conducts research and provides support for SLPs in articulation and phonological treatment. Ms. Taps and her colleagues in San Diego City Schools are currently collaborating with Dr. Steven Skelton from California State University-Fresno to research the most efficacious approach for remediating single sound errors in group treatment. Ms. Taps will be discussing the articulation and phonological programs used at the Articulation Resource Center. Click on the link below to view some of her resources.
