The Department of Communication Disorders assesses the graduate program through formative and summative assessments in order to prepare students in both knowledge and skills in speech-language pathology. In addition, the Department tracks and reviews supplemental data for the Annual Reports required by the Provost.

The graduate program in speech-language pathology in the Department of Communication Disorders at Fort Hays State University is nationally accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The Department prepares students for clinical certification by ASHA and professional Licensure by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
