Department of Allied Health

Introduction

The Department of Allied Health offers a curriculum that provides students with the opportunity to enter a variety of careers in the areas of medical diagnostic imaging; radiologic technology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, cardiovascular-interventional technology, and mammography.

New students are assigned an academic advisor with expertise in a specific modality or career area, who along with the student. develop an individual program of study that will meet the academic requirements. The department offers three degree options; an A.S. degree in Radiologic Technology, and a B.S. degree in Medical Diagnostic Imaging and a B.S. degree in Medical Diagnostic Imaging with an Emphasis in Ultrasound.

For students that are already registered radiographers, FHSU offers credit for their previous training by the Registered Radiographer Degree Completion Program (RRDCP). Brochures are available from the departmental offices describing in detail the various areas of study and include materials required for application to the program.
