discrimination

Welcome

Comment from the President of FHSU

Hammond, Ed

Dr. Ed Hammond

Members of the Fort Hays State University Community:

A workplace free from discrimination and harassment is not only a legal mandate, but it is an imperative to a productive and healthy working environment.  No person should be subjected to any negative or unwanted treatment on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national origin, marital status, veteran status, gender, sexual orientation, or a physical or mental disability.  It is incumbent upon all members of the University community to understand and follow the University policies regarding harassment and discrimination, and the federal and state laws on which they are based.

To this end, I encourage all faculty, staff and students to participate in the training that is provided in this document.  It is expected that all training participants will have at least a general understanding of the law regarding harassment and discrimination, and perhaps more importantly, to appreciate the steps needed to prevent this type of conduct.

Thank you for taking part in this important training, and in contributing to a University free from discrimination and harassment.
