Mission
As citizens in a democracy, one of our
most basic responsibilities is to exercise our right to vote. As
a vehicle that carries a large portion of citizens into adulthood,
it is a basic responsibility of our higher education institutions
to encourage the widespread involvement in the electoral process.
We at FHSU strive to provide our students with academic and extacurricular
excellence. Accordingly, involvement in governance and the political
processes of Hays, Kan., and the United States is paramount for
the students of FHSU. Over the next few months FHSU students will
be given many opportunities to get involved in the political process.
The most important task facing them is voter registration.
Campus voter registration and education programs are powerful
tools for building participation in the voting process. Our mission
for FHSU will be to register, educate, and mobilize 400 (or more)
students. This means that students will be afforded the opportunity
to learn more about the political processes, and their own ideology.
Our goal is to get FHSU students registered to vote, provide ample
educational resources, and to get those students to the ballot
box on Election Day.
